Do you really know who you do biz with?
With the passage of National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, every one in the adult industry can now be accused of terrorism or supporting terrorism. With our liberties being taken more and more here in the United States, those in adult across the globe are now in the cross hairs.
Now consider for a moment before those overseas claim this law doesn't affect them. On the surface it would appear so. But what's to stop any member of Congress, the President, or their lobbyist interests from asserting a claim of an overseas pornographer support terrorism through their online adult business.
This brings up the bigger question. Do you REALLY know the people you partner with on the internet? How do you really know the affiliate that you paid out last week isn't using their commissions to donate to terrorism? How do you know the program you are sending sales isn't really backed by terrorist groups and once you send a sale, you by default now support terrorist organizations?
The problem with the passage of NDAA means that any one involved in a business that does not serve the government's interest or political agenda can now be deemed terrorist in some form and these individuals will not have a right to an attorney or a public trial.
Like many others, I believe the NDAA was cooked up in order to assassinate legally people like the Wikileaks founder Julian and those that whistleblow and provide documentation supporting while also allowing government corporations and banks to quash Occupy type movements.
But to think adult web masters across the world will not be impacted because of this because of their chosen line of work is ridiculous at best. The government no longer needs to charge and convict for obscenity and claiming no knowledge that others who we blindly work with on the internet is involved in terrorist activities will serve as no excuse when the government rains down its oppression.
