Bankruptcy is not needed. Keep the money till they sue you. Then file for BR IF needed which prob is not even needed for most people. Anytime.. BR removes all judgements, liens and everything else.

BR is the debter's Joker in a game of 500. A guaranteed last trick. Unless you have stuff to lose above the exemption limits. Then you are fucked and they will fuck you over.
