Yeah...I don't think there will be a smaller model, just yet.
I'm building a DIT rig and the iPad tends to be a central component of most on set video monitoring setups. Seems I will not be able to avoid purchasing at least one for much longer. A handful of $300 smaller sized units would be quite nice.
