i hope you have some kind of fortress because a gun will not protect you from the situation you are describing and you know thats not really why you (or most others) carry a gun, its just the reasoning you use. it might help you against a single intruder but even that is a very rare situation. i tend to think those who feel the need to always have gun on them must be either be scared people or people who want to intimidate others.
