My belief as an affiliate rep is that my affiliates are my responsibility. If there is a payment issue, it's my job to make sure it's handled. I don't think I have ever told one of my affiliates to talk to accounting. That's my job.
Whether other affiliate reps feel the same way, I have no idea. Just sharing my approach.
I'm glad you got paid. You should cool down on the name-calling though. ;-)
