Yes it will, you can also just assign gallerying to pages and structure it that way too...
Also for anyone looking, Contact Form 7 just updated their plugin and it now breaks NextGEN gallery. The galleries work but you can no longer upload images to make galleries. You have to disable Contact Form 7, upload and build gallery, then you can enable it again. Until they get their act together this is the only way.
