I've been following the Oron vs. Corbin Fisher case here:

http://ia600705.us.archive.org/22/it...rts.nvd.88374/

I'm not a lawyer, but my interpretation of where things stand as of today as follows:

1) In the Hong Kong version of the case, Oron requested 3.4 million be released from their frozen account (which holds 8-13 million) for "regular business expenses". The judge was willing to do it, but required that Oron itemize these expenses, and show proof of how they arrived at this particular amount. Oron's lawyers kept indicating to the judge to look at past transactions in the bank statements before him, but the Hong Kong judge wasn't buying it. He said all these past records showed was that Oron was moving it's money rapidly out of the US to Hong Kong, and then converting it into gold for withdraw. He released $269,000 dollars to cover expenses and told them they had 3 days to submit actual documentation of their expenses to get the full amount. Oron did submit a letter from Leaseweb where Leaseweb detailed a huge sum of money owed to it by an individual named G Maksim, but the judge wouldn't accept that letter as proof that it was an obligation of Oron's (FF Magnat's). This happened in late July, and Oron apparently declined the Court's offer to release more funds if more documentation is submitted.
2) Meanwhile in the US, Oron is telling the judge the site is down now because the injunction freezing its funds is a chokehold. It claims that this all very unfair, and that Oron is an innocent victim. They want the case thrown out on the grounds that a) Oron doesn't have any business ties in Nevada b) Oron is protected by safe harbor provisions in the DMCA, and have always had a robust anti-piracy policy in place. Oron claims they block copyrighted files by MD5 hash tag on the server level and delete repeat infringers.
3) Corbin Fisher's witnesses have submitted statements and screenshots indicating that: a) Oron, Pornbb, and forumophilia all share the same owner. The latter two are huge porn piracy boards, where Oron, a once unpopular filehost, was suddenly shoved down the throats of its users as the preferred filehost by means of a user poll that suspiciously jumped to favor Oron in the closing hours. The communities there objected and people quit in protest, but it's since settled in as the primary host.
B) It's unlikely a hosting company with a long term relationship with a client would suddenly pull the plug on it in the way that Oron is claiming Leaseweb has. And some collusion between them is being inferred by Corbin Fisher's side.
4) Corbin Fisher has told both the American court and the Hong Kong court that a settlement was reached between them and Oron, but that Oron is now trying to back out of it. It wants this settlement enforced.
