In the movie they explain that the battles often take place in public parks. They show some of the people arriving for the battle, but they never show any of the other people in the park. I would love to see some of their reactions as 200 people show up and get out of their cars dressed like knights and mages then proceed to lay out a strategy, give these long, Braveheartesqe speeches then battle.

I think I probably gave up on D&D in 10th grade or so. I used to have so many games going on at once it was insane, and I can remember being a Dungeon Master at like 14 and having 40 year old men in my game. It was such a strange vibe but back then your parents would think nothing of dropping you off at some stranger's house for the weekend for a D&D marathon. Come to think of it some of my earliest interactions with alcohol and drugs were at those games.
I couldn't imagine doing the live action thing though. Back then the farthest we went were those pewter D&D figurines, and even those were kind of a burden. We used to be secretive as hell about playing D&D because the last thing we wanted was to be labeled a nerd and never get laid. Nowadays it's almost cool to be a nerd and there is a whole subculture of nerd chicks that will fuck you...
