I've often said if I were to start in the adult business NOW, in 2012, I would just do exactly what you said, rinse and repeat. You know, instead of doing it how I did it by learning HTML, designing paysites by hand, doing 14 hours of work a day, every damn day for four years (until I got smart-ish and hired some employees, but not Mexicans LOL. Tho I would since I dig their food so much...).
Anyway, I always say there are two types of people who get into the business side of porn:
1. Those who are in it for the long-term and try to conduct business with some semblance of ethics.
2. Those who get into porn in January and go, "Let's see how much money I can make by May, I want a new motorcycle."
Oh, and there's this gem I always say, too: "The adult industry is filled with people who couldn't get a job doing anything else."
(I heard that somewhere, not an original, but oh how I loves it.)
