Actually, you are likely to see more scores per minutes played in soccer than in American football.
Someone did a breakdown of minutes played and Touchdowns in the NFL vs Minutes played and Goals scored in the Barclays (Englands top league, also regarded as some of the most exciting foootball)
Soccer had on average more scores.
