If they are not bathing, pubic hair is probably more to your benefit. You do realize that humans did not always have showers readily available to them, right? Like I said, pubic hair is there for a reason and it has been around a lot longer than daily showers have.
As far as armpits, yes; it is there for a reason as well. The only reason American women shave them and men don't is fashion.
