In fact, the GOP brand is so putrid they'd have a hard time winning dog catcher lately - which is exactly why they're working on the underhanded new rules you mention. The GOP truly is the party of rich, old, white, straight, angry men (and some religious lunatics, and some poor dupes who think Faux Newz is for real). And there just aren't enough of those people left to win elections anymore. So they have to figure out how to steal them.
