They are doing this until 2015. IF it's a program that works, they may mass produce the vehicle. But as of now, it is not.
This is basically a test market for Honda and EVs. It's not a true retail vehicle.
The only Honda Fit available to the entire nation get's less than 30 mpg. You are right that Honda does make one, but it's a test just like the old GM EV1.
