I kinda differentiated between media propaganda and actually getting a check in the mail.
The majority of people who get govt. checks in the mail have never watched a news program in their lives. lol
I knew PLENTY of those types in South Carolina. They never watched the news or had any remote idea what the current big issues are. But they could tell you line for line all the latest stupid dialogue from "Jersey Shore"
