Some tubes make a pretty decent job at generating sales, xhamster is one of them with ratios of 1:1200 (at this time). Some other tubes have been fucking around with me, like pornhub, whose ratio have plummeted from 1:1500 to 1:25000. But the worse with Pornhub scammers is that they've been messing with my uploads by creating playlists, channels, and all sorts of Search Engine friendly pages with my domain names in it, ie with the "18closeup.com" tag, just to rank above my own site in Google and steal my organic traffic, which is by far of a better quality than their shitty traffic!!
(youporn has been doing the same, in a lesser extend, and hopefully Richie is still there to limit manwin's inclination in shooting their own feet)

Also keep in mind that ratios are only part of it. There is also ctr which matters. If the ctr is 1% and there were a million views that means out of the 1 million people watching that 10 minute video only 10,000 actually clicked through (or typed in the url on the watermark). If the ratio is 1:2000 that means only 5 sales for 1 million views of ten minutes of your content.
Comparatively if an affiliate runs a legal tube with 3 minute clips and has a ctr of 4% somehow with the same 1:2000 ratio that means 1 million views on their tube will generate 40,000 clicks and make 20 sales.
Which one is it in your best interests to see get more traffic and visitors seeing your content?
Many of you THOUGHT you were getting rid of those pesky affiliates. Now you are finding you still have those affiliates only in smaller numbers. And now instead of 1 minute promo clips with your watermark they want 10 minute clips with no watermarks AND they want to join your affiliate program so they get their cut. Plus now they are stealing your google ranks. I wonder what the deal will be in five years? I bet you will be paying them a flat rate to submit 40 minute videos plus you will still have to pay them a cut for sales. Maybe they will require you to use their own processor or keep the content on their own domains?
