Using BlackMonster's knucklehead comment as an example, why doesn't LA fall to pieces with every quake? Because they build the structures now to be able to withstand quakes. Smart people who live in flood zones do what? They elevate their homes. If you live in the arctic, you insulate your home. If you live in the tropics, you shade and insulate your home. Yet, these idiots in the Midwest just keep rebuilding the same shit over and over and over, out of wood, and expecting a different result every year when the tornadoes come.
