I think people see racism in far too many things. I think people that might crack a joke here or there or casually say something race related are in fact very normal.
It's human nature think you are better than the other guy or try to distance yourself from various groups.. It's part of our survival instincts.
However there is a line than can be crossed which IMO is unacceptable.
