No doubt, it takes a lot for a country to respect its citizens, Norway is one of them but, in my opinion, prison was invented to punish, to re-educate and to prevent further crimes, even on the average common-sense.
Nowdays, in most "civilized" european countries, prisons are a good place to spend one's life, they're fed, taken care of, have medical plans, are taught new skills, have freedom to walk around, TV's, cellphones, nice furniture, access to www, etc FOR FUCKING NOTHING...! Governments spend hundreds of euros/month for an inmate while child support, for example, rests up to 50euros/month... well? what's the point of all this?
Within these conditions, why would anyone want to have a decent life rather than spend it in prison? only to build-up a credit history, to pay taxes over taxes and heavely contribute to high-rank officials welfare?
Crap!
Here's a question for all of you:
What would you do if you'd be the person in charge to decide how an inmate should live? and by this, I mean, someone who was already convincted.
I feel that most of you guys have the same ideea on "how to... " like I have.
