It's called anxiety. Now you feel more anxious because you are anxious about being anxious. You choose what to think about. You choose what to focus your attention on. Unless you have some mental disorder, chemical imbalance etc. it's a choice. You can always make better choices in those lents as to where and to what you fired your attention
