You don't need with a girl who bosses you around and you definitely shouldn't be asking her "permission." That's your starting point. Anything less and you're fooling yourself. Staying in that relationship is just going to make you both miserable and waste a lot of time. Neither of you deserve that so man up and end it. There is no compromise with that kind of girl. Then when you start dating again, put it all out on the table on the first date.
Hiding/lying to your gf is not the worse thing you've done here. Wasting time on an incompatible relationship is.
