I think you guys are misunderstanding what free speech is. He has every right in the world, to say what ever he wants. He exercised his right of free speech. He was not arrested by any govt agency nor was he ticketed or fined by a govt agency. However he happens to be on the payroll of a TV series whom also has the right to determine how people perceive their show and those who represent it in public. They have the right to determine his employment if he steps out of line of what they consider good taste or what ever you want to call it.
Freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence or freedom from responsibility of ones actions.
