She is from the islands, and my wife works with a lot of island women and understood what she said.
The grandmother was talking about how the girl was posting nude pics online and why doesn't she show her those poses now, and how getting a little money is gonna mean that it's child porn and it's going to follow her her whole life, and what's going to happen when she tries to apply for college and they find those pics online, etc, etc, etc..... All pretty valid IMHO.
If you notice, the grandmother, (who is the one obviously raising her), never really loses control at all. She is careful as to where she hits the girl to make sure that she is only bruised. My wife was saying that she would do the same thing to her daughter if she ever did anything like that! LOL
