Like all the criminals I have ever seen on Cops, you lie about things before thinking about them.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A North Ridgeville man who distributed hundreds of copyrighted movies over the Internet was sentenced Tuesday to nearly 2 1/2 years in prison.
Richard Humphrey, 22, admitted in September that he sold subscriptions to a Web site where he distributed pirated movies, computer games and other software products.
In one instance, Humphrey made available a "cam" of the movie "The Kingdom" in 2007, according to his plea agreement with federal prosecutors.
A cam is an illegal recording in which a video camera is used to film a movie while it's playing in a theater.
The website run by Humphrey included a button labeled "donate" that allowed payments to be made to Humphrey's PayPal account, according to the plea agreement.
Humphrey also offered VIP memberships in which he charged customers $1.50 per month or $16 per year.
Although Humphrey pleaded guilty to operating only one website, federal prosecutors said in a sentencing memorandum that Humphrey designed and operated several websites that infringed on copyright laws.
Prosecutors sought a sentence in the range of 24 to 30 months, in part, because of Humphrey's extensive criminal history. He was on probation when he was caught running the illegal website, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Bob Kern.
Humphrey has juvenile convictions, including assault of a former girlfriend, as well as adult convictions, including menacing, assault and driving a vehicle while impaired, Kern said.
U.S. District Judge Lesley Wells also was aware of a pending charge against Humphrey in Lorain County for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, Kern said. The incident occurred while Humphrey was on bond and awaiting sentencing on the copyright infringement plea.
Humphrey's attorney could not be reached for comment.
