It's not really about SEO as much (not to 6 tier link building lol) or not into a drastic change measures... more about content you provide and maybe few on-page quirks that probably can be quickly fixed.
I would say:
1. do a research in your niche - what kw's are you targeting;
2. look at what you have atm and look at competitors (will give you rough idea);
