Also, we don't know exactly where the plane was shot down. It was shot down "near the Russian border" which is a bit vague. Maybe it was 40 km from the Russian border, shot down by Russian forces inside of Russia....
I had originally said "it could be Russia who snuck a launcher into Ukrainian territory." is not wrong at all. Great, we have proof Rebels (separatists, whatever) have the BUK missiles but that surely doesn't mean Russian didn't take down this plane.
