LOL @ the Russians trying to distance themselves from the rebels like they aren't one and the same. The whole war is about the heavily ethnic Russian area in East Ukraine wanting to break off and join Russia, with Putin's approval and help.
They screwed up royally, they didn't intend to shoot down a civilian plane. Any attempt by Russia to claim that the Ukranians shot the plane down to frame Russia is laughable.
Just admit you fucked up and leave Ukraine alone to its own business.
All so tragic, I do a fair bit of Euro bashing on here and it's for a reason - the entire continent has a history of bloodshed that is based on centuries of tribal hatred that never gets forgotten, not much different than the Middle East. Ask these Yugoslav guys on here, they would love to go back to war to avenge whatever bullshit bothers them. It never ends.
