What I am criticising is that they are heralding this as a piracy free search engine yet have not gone to the trouble of identifying the worst piracy sites and just blocking them from the index.

This would be very helpful.
We pretty quickly discovered that a ton of piracy sites were slipping in under the radar and your database sounds like a great solution.
