I'm thinking of abandoning hostgator immediately and go, even temporarily, in some other hosting.
Many offer a refund within 30 days, I would abandon hostgator, for a new hosting with the possibility of refund. And in the first 30 days evaluate the hosting in question, or alternatives.
Clearly prefer to move once.
I shot a lot in recent days to google, and I also found these:
