I agree to a point. This business and most others online are full of exactly that "find what works... do it again as many times as possible". There's nothing wrong with that, except that its NEVER a long term business plan. My point is that its THOSE people who are usually informing others of facts like "that doesn't work anymore" when its almost never true just because their simple method doesn't work for them anymore and they often do absolutely nothing to change or adapt, they just move on and proclaim it to be over.
SEO is no different. Updates don't mean its over. But regardless, you have no shortage of people constantly claiming "that doesn't work anymore" when its absolutely NEVER the case. Do adjustments need to be made from time to time? Absolutely. But those lazy people don't formulate a new game plan and adjust, they just announce its over.
