I'm on a calorie restricted diet of around 1800. It's practically impossible for me to reach my desired amount of protein without using protein powder.
I personally use brown rice protein powder because I'm a dirty vegan hippie. It's tasteless but has a really horrible consistency.
25 gram serving has 400 kilojoules and 20 grams of protein.
