I personally do not hunt but i do have an understanding that in game reserves animals need to be put down like in zoos. These are the sick elderly or unable to fend for themselves and it is only a matter of time before they would fall prey to a much more gruesome death. The animals that are on the hunt list for the paying hunters would be the same animals that zoo keepers or rangers would need to put down at same time. It is not like there was a heard of elephants and he shot one of them. It would have been a singular isolated elephant that if wasn't shot would only be torn apart by lions in coming days or weeks. Pose at a game reserve in photo and cop backlash from the naive public. If people really care about the current environment issues they won't breed. Most of the Earths endangered animals are actually sources of food for human consumption. As far as earth cycle goes there have been and will be more ice ages and humans will die off anyway so enjoy your lentil soup.
