We used to eat at restaurants quite a bit. But unless it's for something special, Real BBQ, Chinese Food (we have a great one about 30 min drive that's authentic with awesome dumplings), I prefer to cook at home. With the availability of great ingredients, the food I can make is better than the restaurants in the area, and for a fraction of the cost. We just got tired of going out and thinking the food was "Meh" Plus I can have as many beers as I want and not have to worry about driving.
The other night I made Pho for dinner, and it was as good as our local Viet/Thai restaurant. Was actually surprised how easy it was, now I just need to get the recipe for their yellow curry soup.
