It depends on where you live. When I still lived in Canada, plentyoffish worked fine. obviously lots of crap, but I had a 3 year relationship from that site.
Since coming to Europe, I used Badoo and met my current lady on there. The language barrier keeps me from using local options, but for multi-national, I can attest that both of those work.
I have a lot of friends who use Tinder for both hooking up and LT, but you better have some killer pictures ready.
