He is absolutely not a tea party guy. He was when he ran for Senate, but immediately changed his stance once in the Senate. His party of 8 amnesty vote sealed his fate with the tea party. He is more favorable to the Tea Party conservative voters than Jeb Bush, but not by a lot.
