I'm not pretend, because I have a supermarket at the 1st floor of my apartment house. The only thing you can't buy there after 11pm is alcohol. Everything else, including the ice-cream of course is available 24/7.
P.S. The population of Moscow is about 15 millions (non-residents are also counted because they are live here)

Uhm NYC is on extremely small island so is densely populated. I'm sure there are plenty of cities will much more never ending urban sprawl
