I do not dispute this. You guys are a big country with lots of printed money to invest. I am just arguing that the huge bulk of the funds do not go to research but line the pockets of various corporations. Many people still remember the $436 hammer, the $600 toilet seat and $7,622 coffee brewer the US army billed the US people. I would say its a safe bet to say that the billions the USA invests in research end up the same way.
If we were talking about anything else than medicine I would not care, if you guys want to make a 10.0000$ iphone this is your right. But a 1000$ pill to cure a disease is literally robbery. "pay or die" is robbery in any book.
The world should violently oppose any US healthcare bullshit spilling outside the USA. We must not allow this cancer to spread to other countries nor this mindset where people defend a 1000$ pill to become the norm.
One should not have to take out robbery insurance or health care insurance. There is something very wrong with the world where you have to insure yourself against the greed of big corporations.
