There's also the shift to eat actually a somewhat healthier, or at least fresh, made on the spot food, know what you eat etc. I can see new places with fresh, homemade burgers and snacks pop up every other week around the city, and no way would I ever trade that for McDonalds if I had a choice.

I'd expect they'll still continue to thrive in places like Eastern Europe though, where people are used to get massively underpaid and get terrible service, plus there's a whole new generation of obese kids who are kind of trapped into thinking that it's cool to eat there.
