At the very first cart where the guy was "mouthing words at his girlfriend". I already would have shouted at the guy and stood up. It would have ended right there.
When people see you are weak you turn yourself into a victim and they will assert dominance over you.
It's like walking around in a foreign place in a questionable street. Head up, looking straight with stature of confidence. Head down, timid and afraid i guarantee you will become more of a target.
PS. white people are SO weak these days it is embarrassing.
