Of course not. Russian shashlk is usually made of pork - this food has became the traditional dish here many centuries ago. The ethnic Muslims do it with lamb. You just need to decide which one you are going to eat. For example there is a Georgian restaurant (for some unknown reason it's ruled by Armenians ;)) is next to my house. They do shish kebab from any meat you order (pork, lamb, chicken or even beef).

P.S. To make it straight. Christian/atheist Russians prefer shashlk made of pork meat while the Muslim ones (mostly from Caucasus) prefer it made of lamb. Pork is a dirty animal for Muslims and Jews, while lamb is too fat an unhealthy for an European stomach.
