but the fact is that isn't always the case, plenty of times through our history and the history of humanity illustrate that government can and have function properly.

But back to your premise, which is government is corrupt, therefor do not vote for Bernie Sanders. i can't agree with that. not voting (for anyone) won't work in the way your are thinking it will, neither fixing the current state of affairs or having a society without government.
if that document allows them to steal from other individuals (taxation and expropriation), it's inherently corrupt. a first principle (aka axiom) is recognizing that it's wrong to initiate or threaten the initiation of force against a person or their property (non-aggression principle). taxation violates the NAP.

so yes, the government and the very document that validates it is fundamentally corrupt.

and the idea that voting in "just the right people" is somehow going to fix the system is naive to say the least.

not to mention that those who are most likely to ascend the hierarchies of government, are those who are most willing to lie, cheat, say and do whatever it takes to lead a system that's fundamentally corrupt.

it's a fucking utopian fantasy that we can achieve virtue and peace from within such a framework.

stateless societies that emphasize property rights, non-aggression and voluntary solutions to problems are ultimately what will lead the way to world peace.
