Reality doesn't matter to the far right (his supporters) it never has and never will. This has been shown time and time again when people believe bullshit because they "want" to believe it not because facts show it's true..
Trump says stupid shit that his crazy base "wants" to believe, so no matter how much proof is shown that what he says isn't true, they just make excuses and blame liberal media. It's just like Trump clearly making fun of that handicapped reporter on video then coming out the very next day and claiming he didn't. His supporters will deny he ever did a thing wrong and will convince themselves he dindu nuttins..
