I have only been on here for 6 years or so, and I have learned and continue to learn a ton from this board. Of course one of the first things I should have learned is that there is a lot of useless bullshit on here.
If you can avoid feeding the trolls, it's still the best place I can think of to check a companies reputation with affiliates, see if there are any scam complaints against individuals and get breaking industry news (though for that you need a strong bullshit filter)
I think the decline in business talk here is just a result of this being a small community, most of us are already aware of companies that provide services we need, and as for affiliates there just aren't that many anymore.
Big tubes are the affiliates now and you don't need a forum to find them. The wild west is tamed, for now - until the next big thing, whatever that turns out to be.
