Some of the edgiest sci-fi ever written to day right there. Way ahead of his time during the 40's and 50's especially. He was a mentor to Ray Bradbury as well, another of my all-time fave authors.
King, Grisham, Follet, James A. Michener, Clive Cussler, Orwell, Mark Twain, Thomas Hardy... and an untold number more, I've voraciously eaten up their works over the years.

The eyes of the dragon? It was a huge deviation from his usual horror stuff, was set in fabled medieval times. It's been probably 30 years since I read it but damn I remember it being really good.
