not really what i meant - my question is for example why Irish immigration due to famine at home to the US 150 years ago was fine and immigration due to famine today is not

Humans have always moved around, looking for better places to raise their families, fleeing from war and hunger. No laws will stop that - only bullets. And to shoot people looking for a better chance at living, you have to be a very special kind of person
