The moon was put there, as an alien base and a helium3 collector.
Since it has no atmosphere, it collects massive amounts of helium 3 from the sun, and the aliens are mining it.

Also, the aliens collect your life force when you die, wipe your memory, and stuff it into another meat sac to be reborn here over and over, and these operations are centralized within the moon base.

If humans are to ever be free, we have to destroy the moon.
