You can't blame religion. It has been around for thousands of years, through thick and thin.
You can blame the failure of the actors involved.
Yes, we are heading for WWIII and yes we will see it rear its ugly head soon and, in my view, within this next decade. I don't know about other parts of the world but Europe is totally and completely finished. Mankind probably is over due a big cleansing and isn't it true that according to the Christian bible the antichrist is instructed by God anyway?
