For me humor surpasses politics: When someone makes an absolutely brilliant Trump joke i can laugh my ass off. Same goes for a brilliant Hillary joke.

The audiences at these roasts however (saw one of Rob Lowe, and the Roast Battles) are too primitive for that.

Burn Trump, even with a horrible joke, and the audience is laughing like weird hyped up hyenas. Very strange.

You know who reacts the same? Islamists when a joke is being make about islam. Doesn't matter if the joke is really funny, they cant laugh at it because they have this ideology holding them back culturally and socially.
