To begin, it?s pure comedy. Canadians love a good laugh and American politics have consistently provided great humour. From Bush indignantly saying, ?They misunderestimated me? to pretty much every single Sarah Palin interview, there is simply no way to keep a straight face when discussing American politics.

Here are my own personal reasons:
It's stunning. It's stunning to me how some people that I think are so stupid, get so close to the white house. To me, a Canadian, you should be someone who is an expert at everything, who has many degrees, gone to the best schools, understand basic science and advanced law, etc.
Since I personally love science, I pay more attention to anyone who wants to dismiss science for other things such as financial gain or religious reasons, then measure how much that dismissal can hurt people or places.
So when American politicians, who are undoubtably the most powerful in the world get closer to the white house AND say climate change is a hoax (Trump), or that vaccines cause autism (Palin), I get anxious. Why? Because what Americans do affects Canadians, and affects the world.
Idiots like Trump becoming president doesn't just ruin your day, it ruins our day too.
