With that said, now what is Trump going to do? He seems to think this is a simple matter of negotiating a "trade deal" that favors the United States. Well, the first China is going to say is "You must confirm you accept the One China policy and never ever talk directly to Taiwan again". Then China will demand we remove of our military from the Philipines, allow them to weaponize these islands, and then demand ownership of the Spratly Islands. (Look it up.) All of this will be before we decide what shape the negotiating table will be.

could just as easily be reverse of that... "we demand x, y and z... either agree or congress we'll pass a high tariff on Chinese goods..." then they'll either be forced to negotiate or see if he is bluffing...
