VR might be a catalyst. If it lives up to the hype it will be 100 times better than any porn we've ever known, within a few years, maybe better than sex for the average Joe (who probably isn't getting great sex in the real world). Certain groups will seek to ban porn with ever more zeal, but maybe it will be harder to do so when it's so damned good.

There are lots of conflicting currents in society meeting head on over the next decades. For example, a whole generation reared on tube porn on tap will be starting to move into positions of power. On the other hand, the influence of Islam will continue to grow in the West.

I'm not sure the new porn conservatism is a result of populism. Porn filters in the UK were supported by both Conservatives and Labour and are actually pretty unpopular to the public it seems. More to do with the hypocritical conservatism of the elites who run us, as well as the power of NGOs and lobby groups.

Is Donald Trump against porn himself? The pussy grabber who made some of his fortune from beauty contests? I mean he is pro Russia but he appointed a hawk as his defence chief. I doubt if he would let him start a war against Putin, and I doubt he would let the religous nuts he's appointed ban porn.
